From “Eyesore” to Essential Workforce Housing, CFC contributes to the Adaptive Reuse of a 1976 Hotel in Erie, Pennsylvania

This essential workforce housing project involves the purchase and adaptive reuse of the former Avalon Hotel, located in downtown Erie, PA. When complete, the project will include approximately 197 studio units and 31,860 square feet of commercial/medical office space with on-site parking.

115 Studio units have been master leased by community businesses and educational organizations, including the Erie Downtown Development Corporation, Hamot Health Foundation, and Gannon University, highlighting the connection between clean, safe, and affordable essential housing and community economic development. Commercial tenants include Regional Health Services, Inc., an affiliate of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
